To require disclosure of the total amount of interest that would be paid over the life of a loan for certain Federal student loans.
Summary
This bill requires federal student loan disclosures to include the total amount of interest that would be paid over the life of a loan using the standard repayment plan. The total interest calculation is based on the borrower's total outstanding principal on all their federal loans. This disclosure requirement is added to the existing loan documentation that borrowers receive when taking out federal student loans.
