Summary

This bill amends federal education law to encourage states to develop academic standards for artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in elementary and secondary schools. The bill modifies the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to explicitly include artificial intelligence and emerging technologies as part of the academic standards that states are encouraged to establish for students. The amendment does not mandate that states create these standards, but rather encourages their development as part of existing state education planning requirements. The bill aims to prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven workforce by ensuring education standards address AI and emerging technologies alongside traditional academic subjects.
