Mr. Curtis introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation
A BILL
To amend title 49, United States Code, to protect the use of risk-based approaches by owners and operators of certain pipeline facilities, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the “Modern Risk Detection Act of 2025”.
SEC. 2. RISK-BASED APPROACHES.
Section 60102 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:
“(u) Risk-Based Approaches.—The Secretary shall ensure that the standards prescribed under this chapter allow for the use, to the maximum extent practicable, of risk-based approaches, concepts, or principles in complying with those standards.”. <all>
