Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act
To reauthorize the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill reauthorizes and extends the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act through 2029, which supports mental health and substance use disorder services for health care professionals. It makes the education and awareness initiative to encourage health care professionals to use mental health services an annual recurring program rather than a one-time effort. The bill also expands eligible entities for mental health promotion programs to include organizations focused on reducing administrative burden on health care workers, and extends the authorization period for these programs from 2022-2024 to 2025-2029.
