Mr. Whitehouse (for himself and Mr. Grassley) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL

To amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to reauthorize the Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Grant Program of the Department of Justice.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Justice Grant Reauthorization Act”.

SEC. 2. REAUTHORIZATION.

Section 1001(a)(27) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10261(a)(27)) is amended—

(1) by striking “$103,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2017 and 2018, and”; and

(2) by striking “2019 through 2023” and inserting “2026 through 2030”. <all>
