S 2486 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Protecting Access to Credit for Small Businesses Act
To prohibit the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from directly making loans under the 7(a) loan program, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill prohibits the Small Business Administration from directly making loans under the Section 7(a) loan program. The SBA would continue to service loans it made prior to the bill's enactment. The effect would shift the Section 7(a) program from direct SBA lending to a model dependent on private lenders to originate these small business loans.
