Summary

This bill would require the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Agriculture to create a memorandum of understanding to streamline housing projects funded by both agencies. The agencies would evaluate environmental review processes, designate a lead agency to reduce duplication, and assess whether they can conduct joint physical inspections. An advisory working group of housing industry and resident representatives would be established to provide input, and the agencies would report back to Congress within one year with recommendations to improve efficiency while maintaining safety and environmental standards.
