Case Management Services Improvement Act of 2007
To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to provide adequate case management services.
Summary
This bill would amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to specify that case management services following major disasters must be provided by nonprofit or faith-based organizations with experience in case management services. The current law allows these services to be provided by any qualified private organizations. The change would apply to all major disasters declared on or after January 1, 2005, making the requirement retroactively effective for disasters that had already been declared.
