Summary

This bill reauthorizes two Special Diabetes Programs by extending their funding through 2027: the Special Diabetes Program for Type 1 Diabetes and the Special Diabetes Program for Indians. For each program, the bill authorizes $160 million in funding for each of fiscal years 2026 and 2027, and an additional $40 million for the period from October 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027. All authorized funds are made available to remain available until expended, allowing the programs to carry forward any unused balances into subsequent periods. The reauthorization ensures continued federal support for diabetes research, education, and care services targeted at individuals with Type 1 Diabetes and Indian communities.
