Summary

This bill repeals the Robinson-Patman Act of 1936, a federal antitrust law that prohibits certain price discrimination in wholesale transactions. The Robinson-Patman Act currently makes it illegal for sellers to charge different prices to different wholesale buyers for the same goods in ways that would harm competition. Repealing this law would eliminate these price discrimination restrictions from federal antitrust law. The repeal would apply to all industries and products, not just prescription drugs. The bill would take effect upon enactment.
