Mr. Schmitt introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL

To amend title 5, United States Code, to designate Easter Monday as a legal public holiday.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Easter Monday Act of 2025”.

SEC. 2. EASTER MONDAY AS A LEGAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

Section 6103(a) of title 5, United States Code, is amended by inserting after the item relating to Washington’s Birthday the following: “Easter Monday, the first Monday that occurs after the first Sunday that occurs after the full Moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox (commonly known as ‘Easter Sunday’).”. <all>
