To amend the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act to require schools to offer a variety of milk to students participating in the school lunch program, and for other purposes.
Summary
The bill amends the National School Lunch Act to require schools to offer a variety of milk options to students, including both traditional fluid milk and plant-based milk alternatives. Plant-based milk options must meet the nutritional standards established by the Secretary of Agriculture or other applicable guidelines. The bill removes previous restrictions that limited schools to offering only fluid dairy milk in school lunch programs.
