Summary

This bill amends the Federal Crop Insurance Act to expand support for beginning and veteran farmers and ranchers. It extends the eligibility period for beginning farmers from five to ten years of farming experience and for veteran farmers from five to ten crop years. The bill increases crop insurance premium assistance rates for beginning and veteran farmers, providing 15 percentage points of additional assistance during the first and second years (increased from 10), then gradually decreasing to 10 percentage points by the fifth year and beyond. These changes aim to provide greater financial support to new and veteran farmers during their early years of operation.
