Summary

The resolution amends Rule XVII of the House Rules to establish new requirements for disciplinary actions against Members, Delegates, or Resident Commissioners. A Member may not be censured, disapproved, or removed from committee membership unless at least 60 percent of Members voting (with a quorum present) vote in favor of the action. This raises the threshold for these disciplinary actions from a simple majority to a supermajority requirement.
