IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Mrs. Foushee introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure

A BILL

To amend title 23, United States Code, to include super speeder programs in State highway safety programs, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Slow Down Act”.

SEC. 2. HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAMS.

Section 402(a)(2)(A) of title 23, United States Code, is amended—

(1) by redesignating clauses (xiii) and (xiv) as clauses

(xiv) and (xv), respectively; and

(2) by inserting after clause (xii) the following:

“(xiii) to establish and implement Stop Super Speeders programs requiring the installation and use of active intelligent speed assistance technology, that automatically limits a motor vehicle from exceeding the applicable speed limit, for individuals with records of repeated or severe violations of applicable speed limits including penalties for failure to comply with such requirements in their motor vehicle;”. <all>
