HR 9184 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Local Data for Better Conservation Act
To amend the Endangered Species Act of 1973 with respect to the listing of threatened and endangered species, and for other purposes.
Summary
The bill amends the Endangered Species Act of 1973 to modify how the federal government makes decisions about listing and delisting species as threatened or endangered. Specifically, it requires the Secretary of the Interior to accept and integrate data collected by states as part of the listing determination process. This provision ensures that state-collected scientific data is formally considered in federal endangered species decisions.
