It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Protecting our Border, Protecting our Water Act
To require the United States Commissioner of the International Boundary and Water Commission to negotiate an agreement with Mexico relating to the number of aliens detained in the United States, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill directs the Secretary of State, acting through the United States Commissioner of the International Boundary and Water Commission, to negotiate an agreement with Mexico. Under the proposed agreement, for each alien apprehended in a Colorado River Compact signatory state who unlawfully crossed the southern border, Mexico would forfeit one acre-foot of water rights to that state. The bill establishes a mechanism linking border enforcement outcomes to water rights allocation under the Colorado River Compact.
