IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Mr. Keating (for himself and Mr. Castro of Texas) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs

A BILL

To amend title 1, United States Code, to expand the scope of documents the Secretary of State is required to transmit to the Congress, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. EXPANSION OF CASE-ZABLOCKI ACT TRANSPARENCY REQUIREMENTS.

Section 112b(k)(5) of title 1, United States Code, is amended—

(1) in subparagraph (A), by striking “; and” at the end and inserting a semicolon;

(2) in subparagraph (B), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and

(3) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:

“(C) includes an agreement otherwise described in subparagraph (A), whether written or oral, under which a foreign country accepts into the territory of the country any number of foreign nationals who are not nationals of that country and are subject to final orders of removal from the United States, and such agreement, to the extent oral, shall be reduced to writing for purposes of compliance with the requirements of this section.”.

SEC. 2. DEADLINE FOR POST-AUDIT REPORT SUBMISSION BY THE COMPTROLLER GENERAL.

Section 112b(h)(3) of title 1, United States Code, is amended by striking “The Comptroller General” and inserting “Not later than 30 days after concluding an audit required by paragraph (1), the Comptroller General”. <all>
