Summary

This bill amends federal law to permanently ban healthcare providers from participating in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs if they are convicted of fraud, theft, embezzlement, breach of fiduciary duty, or related financial crimes. The permanent ban applies to convictions occurring after the bill becomes law and removes exceptions that currently allow some excluded providers to be reinstated after a certain period. The change aims to prevent individuals convicted of financial crimes from providing services to federal healthcare beneficiaries.
