Shared Micromobility Investment Act

To amend titles 23 and 49, United States Code, to provide eligibility for shared micromobility projects to receive funding under certain surface transportation programs, and for other purposes.

Introduced May 11, 2026

Latest action (May 11, 2026) Referred to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

Summary

This bill would amend federal transportation law to make shared micromobility projects eligible for federal funding. Shared micromobility projects include bikesharing and scooter-sharing systems. Currently, these projects are not listed as eligible uses for certain federal surface transportation funding programs. The bill adds shared micromobility to three key funding programs: the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program, the Carbon Reduction Program, and the Local and Regional Project Assistance program. This would allow states and localities to use federal transportation funds for building and expanding bikesharing and scooter-sharing infrastructure.
