Introduced Apr 29, 2026

Latest action (Apr 29, 2026) Referred to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

Summary

This bill requires the Federal Aviation Administration to establish a comprehensive education program on unleaded aviation gasoline for the general aviation community, including pilots, flight schools, airport operators, and maintenance technicians. The program must be created within one year and include information about the compatibility of unleaded fuel with aircraft, the status of different unleaded fuel variations being approved for use, when products become available, and relevant safety information. The FAA must publish this information on a public website with a continuously updated authorization tracking mechanism and coordinate with industry to provide annual training for fixed-base operator staff. The program includes a requirement for the FAA to brief Congress every six months on the program's progress and compare unleaded fuel sales to current leaded aviation fuel sales, with the program terminating December 31, 2036.
