To require the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to waive Reid Vapor Pressure requirements with respect to calendar year 2026, and for other purposes.
Summary
HR 8519 requires the Environmental Protection Agency Administrator to waive Reid Vapor Pressure requirements for gasoline during the period from May 1, 2026, through September 15, 2026. The waiver would allow the sale, dispensing, transport, and supply of gasoline that exceeds the applicable Reid Vapor Pressure standards that would otherwise be prohibited under the Clean Air Act. Reid Vapor Pressure is a measure of gasoline volatility, and the waiver would temporarily remove restrictions on gasoline vapor pressure limits during the specified summer period in 2026.
