To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to eliminate the payment reduction for certain multiple therapy services under the Medicare program.
Summary
This bill amends the Medicare program to eliminate payment reductions for certain multiple therapy services. Currently, Medicare applies a 50 percent payment reduction for certain multiple therapy services provided to beneficiaries. The bill changes this reduction to 0 percent for services furnished on or after January 1, 2027, effectively eliminating the payment reduction for both physician-provided therapy services and outpatient therapy services and comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services. This change applies to services covered under the physician fee schedule and outpatient therapy services provisions of the Medicare program.
