Summary

This bill raises the mandatory retirement age for Foreign Service officers from 65 to age 67 or the Social Security Full Retirement Age, whichever is greater. The Social Security Full Retirement Age varies based on birth year, currently ranging from 66 to 67 for those born between 1943 and 1954, with plans to increase further for those born in 1960 and later. This change aligns the Foreign Service mandatory retirement age with the Social Security retirement age structure.
