HR 8319 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to expand certain remote monitoring services furnished by physicians to individuals with end stage renal disease under the Medicare program.
Summary
The KIDNEY Remote Monitoring Act amends Medicare law to expand coverage for remote monitoring services provided by physicians to individuals with end-stage renal disease who receive home dialysis. The bill establishes that Medicare will pay for these remote physiologic monitoring services beginning January 1, 2028, using the payment rates specified in existing Medicare payment rules. Remote monitoring services allow physicians to monitor patients' health status from a distance rather than requiring in-person visits.
