Summary

This bill amends the Federal Deposit Insurance Act to update how deposit insurance coverage limits are adjusted for inflation. The bill changes the base year for inflation calculations from 2010 to 2030 and revises the methodology to reference the standard maximum deposit insurance amount rather than a fixed dollar amount. The changes apply to both deposit insurance and share insurance. These amendments are intended to modernize how the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation adjusts coverage limits over time.
