To establish an entitlement to a supplemental period of unpaid parental leave for employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Summary
The bill establishes an entitlement for Department of Veterans Affairs employees to four administrative weeks of unpaid parental leave during any 12-month period. This leave is available for the birth of a child or for placement of a child through adoption or foster care. The entitlement must be used within the 12-month period beginning on the date of the birth or placement. This unpaid leave is in addition to any other parental leave benefits to which VA employees are already entitled under federal law.
