HR 7975 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Feeding Families Not Fear Act of 2026
To amend Public Law 119-21 to rescind the increased appropriations for immigration and customs enforcement (ICE), and to reverse the harmful reduction in supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008.
Summary
The bill repeals sections of Public Law 119-21 that increased funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), rescinding any unspent balances from those appropriations. It also repeals provisions from the same law that reduced supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) benefits, restoring food assistance to its previous benefit levels. These changes would reduce immigration enforcement funding while increasing assistance for low-income households seeking to purchase food.
