IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Ms. Randall (for herself and Mr. Wittman) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

A BILL

To amend title 10, United States Code, to include Indian tribes in the defense community infrastructure program, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Defense Community Infrastructure Program Tribal Eligibility Act of 2026”.

SEC. 2. INCLUDING TRIBAL GOVERNMENTS IN THE DEFENSE COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM.

Section 2391 of title 10, United States Code, is amended—

(1) in subsection (d)—

(A) in paragraph (1)(A), by inserting “Indian tribes,” after “local governments,”; and

(B) in paragraph (2)(B), by striking “or local government” each place such term appears and inserting “government, local government, or Indian tribe”; and

(2) in subsection (e)—

(A) in paragraph (4)(A)(ii)(I), by striking “or local government” and inserting “government, local government, or Indian tribe”; and

(B) by adding at the end the following new paragraph:

“(7) The term ‘Indian tribe’ has the meaning given that term in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C. 5304).”. <all>
