To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide that the prohibition on the possession of firearms and ammunition by certain aliens shall apply with respect to the use of firearms and ammunition by government entities.
Summary
This bill amends federal firearms law to expand the prohibition on firearm possession by certain aliens to include government entities. Specifically, it modifies an exemption in federal law to ensure that federal restrictions on firearm possession by undocumented immigrants and individuals subject to restraining orders apply even when those individuals are employed by government agencies and use firearms in their official capacity. The bill effectively prevents government agencies from employing or authorizing undocumented immigrants to possess or use firearms.
