Mr. Lawler introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Financial Services

A BILL

To require the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a study with respect to public housing inspections and the number of inspectors needed to ensure that all inspections are completed annually.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Annual Public Housing Inspections Accountability Act”.

SEC. 2. STUDY ON PUBLIC HOUSING INSPECTIONS.

The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the Comptroller General of the United States shall, not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this section, conduct a study and submit a report to the Congress that identifies:

(1) how many inspections required to be conducted by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the 1-year period are incomplete; and

(2) how many inspectors are needed to ensure that all inspections required to be conducted by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development can be completed each year. <all>
