Summary

This bill amends the Federal Home Loan Bank Act to expand access to homeownership by broadening the definition of financial institutions eligible to participate in the Federal Home Loan Bank system. Specifically, the bill adds federal credit unions to the types of institutions that can join the system, which previously was limited to institutions regulated under the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. By including credit unions, the bill aims to provide more community financial institutions with access to funding mechanisms that support homeownership. The amendment modifies Section 2(10)(A)(i) of the Federal Home Loan Bank Act.
