Mr. Frost (for himself and Mr. Mast) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure

A BILL

To direct the Secretary of Transportation to issue guidance regarding State projects to reduce trespassing fatalities, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Safer Rail Crossing Act of 2026”.

SEC. 2. GUIDANCE REGARDING STATE PROJECTS TO REDUCE TRESPASSING FATALITIES.

Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Transportation, acting through the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration, shall issue guidance describing the types of projects under section 130(e)(1)(B) of title 23, United States Code, for which a State may use funds set aside under section 130(e)(1)(A) of such title. <all>
