To direct the Secretary of the Interior to ensure full pool levels of Flathead Lake in Montana in accordance with certain requirements, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill would require the Secretary of the Interior to maintain Flathead Lake in Montana at specific water levels during the summer and early fall period each year. From June 15 through September 15, the Secretary would be directed to ensure the lake level remains at a minimum of 2,892 feet above mean sea level (supplied by water from Hungry Horse Reservoir) and a maximum of 2,893 feet above mean sea level (with excess water released downstream). This establishes a one-foot operating range for the lake during this seasonal period.
