HR 7059 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
No Unauthorized War in Mexico Act
To prohibit the use of funds to use military force in or against Mexico, and for other purposes.
Summary
The bill prohibits the use of federal funds for military force in or against Mexico from the date it is enacted through December 31, 2026. Military action would only be permitted if Congress declares war on Mexico or enacts specific statutory authorization for such use in compliance with the War Powers Resolution. The prohibition does not apply to military force that is consistent with emergency defense provisions of the War Powers Resolution.
