District of Columbia Transportation Funding Equality Act
To amend title 49, United States Code, to treat the District of Columbia as a State for purposes of certain grant programs, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends federal transportation law to treat the District of Columbia as a state for purposes of several transportation grant programs. Specifically, it includes DC in the formula grants for buses program, the apportionments based on growing states and high density states program, the National Culvert Removal, Replacement, and Restoration Grant Program, and the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program. These changes would allow DC to compete for and receive federal transportation funding in the same manner as states.
