HR 6927 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Noise Oversight and Information for Safe Environments Act
To amend the Noise Control Act of 1972 to establish a deadline for revising or supplementing noise criteria.
Summary
HR 6927 amends the Noise Control Act of 1972 to require the EPA Administrator to review noise criteria and determine whether revisions or updates are necessary. The Administrator must complete an initial review within 2 years of the bill's enactment and then conduct subsequent reviews at least once every 10 years. If the Administrator determines that noise criteria need to be revised or supplemented, those changes must be made in accordance with established procedures. The provision aims to ensure that noise standards remain current based on available scientific knowledge.
