HR 687 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Identification Integrity Act of 2003
To prohibit the Federal Government from accepting a form of identification issued by a foreign government, except for a passport that is accepted for such a purpose on the date of enactment of this Act.
Summary
This bill prohibits federal employees in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches from accepting forms of identification issued by foreign governments for the purpose of establishing an individual's identity. The bill includes an exception for foreign passports that are already authorized by federal law on the date the bill is enacted, preserving existing uses of foreign passports where federal law permits them.
