Bridge to Summer Nutrition Act of 2025
To reduce State administrative costs for administration of both the supplemental nutrition assistance program under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 and the summer electronic benefits transfer program for children under the Richard B. Russell School Lunch Act.
Summary
This bill increases the federal government's reimbursement to states for administering nutrition assistance programs. For each fiscal year that a state operates the summer electronic benefits transfer program for children, the Secretary of Agriculture would pay 90 percent of the state's monthly administrative costs for both that summer program and the supplemental nutrition assistance program. The bill aims to reduce the administrative burden and costs for states managing these nutrition assistance programs.
