HR 6587 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend title 38, United States Code, to make permanent the authority of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide transportation to and from Department of Veterans Affairs facilities in connection with vocational rehabilitation or counseling.
Summary
This bill makes permanent the Department of Veterans Affairs' authority to provide transportation to and from VA facilities for veterans undergoing vocational rehabilitation or counseling. Currently, the Secretary's authority to provide this transportation is temporary, subject to time limitations in existing law. The bill removes those time limitations, making the transportation authority permanent.
