Boosting the Rural STEM Pipeline Act
To amend the National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002 and the Research and Development, Competition, and Innovation Act to repeal cost-sharing with respect to the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, and for other purposes.
Summary
The bill removes a cost-sharing requirement from the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, which provides funding for science and math teacher preparation. Currently, institutions receiving Noyce scholarships must contribute matching funds or resources; this bill eliminates that requirement. The bill also makes technical corrections to related provisions in federal law governing research and development programs.
