A BILL

To direct the Secretary of State to submit a report on the United Nations Human Rights Council, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Fix the United Nations Human Rights Council Act”.

SEC. 2. REPORT ON UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL.

(a) In General.—Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State shall submit to the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate a report on United States policy towards China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, and other human rights violators relating to their roles as members of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Such report shall include—

(1) a section relating to the United States plan to eliminate Item 7 of the United Nations Human Rights Council Agenda;

(2) a section relating to the United States areas of concern related to China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, and other human rights violators who are members of the United Nations Human Rights Council; and

(3) a section relating to the United States plan to remove China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, and other human rights violators from the United Nations Human Rights Council.

(b) Form.—The report required under subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form but may include a classified annex. <all>
