Veterans Healthcare Improvement Act
To direct the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct reviews of certain budget requests of the President for the medical care accounts of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Summary
This bill requires the Comptroller General of the United States to review the Department of Veterans Affairs' medical care budget requests for fiscal years 2026, 2027, and 2028. The Comptroller General must submit reports on these reviews to the relevant congressional committees, including the Veterans' Affairs, Appropriations, and Budget committees in both chambers. The review would cover four specific medical care accounts: Medical Services, Medical Support and Compliance, Medical Facilities, and Medical Community Care. The Comptroller General will coordinate with the congressional Veterans' Affairs committees regarding the timing and scope of the reviews. The bill amends the Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act of 2009.
