District of Columbia Flood Prevention Act of 2025

To amend the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 to allow the District of Columbia to receive Federal funding under such Act, and for other purposes.

Introduced Nov 4, 2025

Latest action (Nov 4, 2025) Referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources.

Summary

This bill amends the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 to make the District of Columbia eligible to receive federal funding under the act. Currently, the law provides funding to states for coastal zone management programs, but the District was not included in the definition of eligible recipients. The amendment adds the District of Columbia to the statute, allowing it to access these federal coastal zone management funds.
