Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act
To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to prohibit the entry of aliens who adhere to Sharia law and for other purposes.
Summary
The Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act would amend immigration law to prohibit the entry of aliens deemed to adhere to Sharia law and would authorize the revocation of immigration benefits for any alien found to be an adherent of Sharia law. The bill directs the Secretary of State, Secretary of Homeland Security, and Attorney General to deny immigration benefits, visas, and admission to individuals meeting this criterion and to remove from the United States any alien already present who is found to adhere to Sharia law. The bill also establishes penalties for providing false statements about adherence to Sharia law in immigration proceedings. Determinations made by these officials under the bill would be final and not subject to court review.
