To direct the President to withdraw the United States from the Constitution of the World Health Organization, and for other purposes.
Summary
The WHO Withdrawal Act directs the President to withdraw the United States from the Constitution of the World Health Organization effective upon enactment. The bill also prohibits any federal department or agency from using funds to provide for United States participation in the World Health Organization or any successor organization. The bill repeals the Act of June 14, 1948, which authorized U.S. membership and participation in the World Health Organization and appropriations for that purpose. If enacted, the legislation would terminate U.S. membership in the WHO and end federal funding for the organization.
