HR 5292 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To reimpose Jackson-Vanik restrictions on the Russian Federation.
Summary
This bill would repeal certain provisions of the Russian Federation Sanctions Act of 2012, thereby reimposing Jackson-Vanik trade restrictions on the Russian Federation. Jackson-Vanik restrictions were Cold War-era trade provisions that had been suspended with respect to Russia under the 2012 act. Reimposing these restrictions would limit certain trade relationships with Russia.
