HR 522 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To ensure equal treatment for certain faith-based organizations in certain Small Business Administration programs.
Summary
This bill enacts into law a proposed rule from the Small Business Administration titled "Ensuring Equal Treatment for Faith-Based Organizations in SBA's Loan and Disaster Assistance Programs," which was issued on January 19, 2021. By making this rule binding, the bill ensures that faith-based organizations receive equal treatment when applying for Small Business Administration loan programs and disaster assistance. The bill does not create new programs or eligibility criteria, but rather codifies an existing regulatory proposal to address how faith-based organizations are treated in SBA lending and disaster aid decisions.
