Rural Health Clinic Location Modernization Act of 2025
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to maintain standards for qualification as a rural health clinic under the Medicare program.
Summary
This bill modifies the Medicare program's criteria for designating a health clinic as a rural health clinic by changing the definition of location requirements. It redefines rural clinics as those in an "urban area with a population of 50,000 or more" instead of an "urbanized area." This change affects which clinics qualify for Medicare's rural health clinic designation and associated reimbursement rates, with an effective date of January 1, 2027.
