Marijuana 1-to-3 Act of 2025

To provide for the rescheduling of marijuana into schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act.

Introduced Aug 12, 2025

Latest action (Aug 12, 2025) Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

Summary

This bill directs the Attorney General to reschedule marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act within 60 days of enactment. Schedule III classification means the substance has accepted medical use and lower abuse potential compared to Schedule I drugs. The rescheduling would override the normal administrative procedures for changing drug classifications.
